People who practice Daoism all know about Laozi (whose real name is Lao Er) and his Dao De Jing. Lao Er himself didn't write or speak publicly, so how did the Dao De Jing get passed on? It is because of Yin Xi, also known as Wenshi Zhen Ren, who was a senior official during the reign of King Jing of the Zhou Dynasty and the founder of the Wen Shi school in Daoism.

Yin Xi observed the night sky and foresaw that a sage would be heading west to Hangu Pass. Therefore, he applied for a transfer to the pass. After waiting for three years, he finally encountered Lao Er. Due to his excellent foundation in Daoism, he earned Lao Er's respect and convinced him to pass on his knowledge. Over more than a hundred days, Yin Xi was taught the framework of Daoist arts, with the principle of Wu Wei (non-action) at its core. The questions and answers and teachings during this period became the Dao De Jing.

After attaining enlightenment, Yin Xi integrated the ancient "Three Graves" (San Fen) with King Wen's "I Ching" (Zhou Yi), incorporating the essence of "Eight Cords" (Ba Suo) and "Plain Text" (Su Shu). He composed the nine chapters of "Guan Yin Xi," known as the "Wen Shi Zhen Jing" .

"The Wen Shi Zhen Jing" and the principles it contains established a life practice lineage that closely aligns with the original intentions of Fu Xi, the Yellow Emperor, and Laozi. This lineage is known as the "Wen Shi School." The term "Wen Shi" implies that the civilization of Daoist learning would commence from this point in the centuries to come. The rise and fall of Daoist thought have been profoundly connected with the Wen Shi School.

Master Tai Yi is the current inheritor of the complete teachings and practices of the Wen Shi School. He has now revealed "The Wen Shi Zhen Jing" to the world, providing an interpretation known as the great commentary for it - “Wen Shi Zhen Jie Da Pei Fu".
